Central Brooklyn residents Akua Soadwa, founder of the Gye Nyame Empowerment Project and Zebi Williams, founder of The Lil Raggamuffin Summer Camp, have taken their college friendship and turned it into an international movement.
On Monday, June 9, from 7:00pm - 9:00pm, at Free Candy, located at 905 Atlantic Avenue, these two sister organizations committed to uplifting the Global Diaspora will come together for a common goal: The Unified Visionaries Benefit.
They have mobilized a dynamic network of educators and artists from the Brooklyn community and beyond to volunteer and provide educational experiences to over 2,000 students throughout New York City and Jamaica.
The evening will feature an art auction, live musical performances by Meridian, TECLA and Charly x Margaux, DJ Hard Hittin' Harry and more.
And in recognition of their efforts as pioneers in the development of arts in the community, Cultural Visionary Awards will be presented to Brooklyn Councilwoman, Laurie Combo and to Artist/Activist Danny Simmons. 
Open wine bar and appetizers will be provided by Wine & Spirits Magazine, J.Blair Catering and La Caye Restaurant.
Early Bird tickets are $35; $40 at the door.
All of the evening's proceeds will go to furthering the mission of empowerment and entrepreneurial advocacy within the community.
