Jobs, unemploymentNew York’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.7 percent (642,800 people) in April from 6.9 percent (662,900 people) in March, the lowest it has been since December 2008, reported Gannett Albany.

The state Department of Labor said New York is one of 17 states that has regained all of the private sector jobs lost during the recession. 

The industries with the largest job gains since April 2013 were the private sector educational and health services. Manufacturing and government, which includes public education and public health service industries, saw the largest job losses, the state reports.
