Alexander and Hall were off duty and sitting in the parking lot of a White Castle in Crown Heights when Officer Li was shot in the leg and groin after he and Office Chow tried to apprehend a man who was attempted to fair beat on an MTA bus.

Police said Mr. Li and Officer Randy Chow, both rookies who graduated from the police academy in December and were working in an Operation Impact zone.

Also in attendance to offer words of support were Kings County District Attorney Ken Thompson, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, City Councilmember Laurie Cumbo, City Councilmember Darlene Mealy and City Councilmember Mathieu Eugene.

Alexander, Hall and Li all said that if they had to do it again, they would not hesitate to come to other's aid just as before.
