But the rest of the week, Central Brooklyn should see fairly mild, very spring-like weather with partly sunny skies and high temperatures hovering around the low 50s

3. On Monday, April 14, Greenlight Book Store, located at 686 Fulton Street, will take part in World Book Night. WBN is a day in which specially selected givers all over the US, the UK, Ireland, and Germany give away great books — for free! — to those who might not otherwise encounter them. Now in its third year, World Book Night is a celebration of reading, made possible by authors, publishers, readers, and bookstores and libraries around the country and around the world. Greenlight is proud to be a participating bookstore, and tonight they'll hand over cartons of books to World Book Night Givers to give away the following Tuesday! To mark the occasion, they've asked a few of the Givers to read from or talk about the books they've selected to give away from this year's World Book Night title list. There may also be a surprise celebrity guest or two to join in the celebration of reading! Join us for a joyous evening of sharing the books we love, followed by a wine reception for all attendees.

4. The 77th Precinct Community Council, representing the southern section of Crown Heights, will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, April 14, at 7:30pm, at Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1024 Bergen St. (between Rogers and Nostrand).

5. Macon Branch Library continues its celebration of April as Jazz Appreciation Month with its next weekly performance: Tai Allen, featuring HeavyLight & The Originals, on Tuesday, April 15, at 6:00pm.
