WHAT: The Opening Reception of Re: Purpose-- The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) is pleased to present Re: purpose, a satellite group exhibition at FiveMyles featuring Pamela Council, Sara Jimenez, Sondra Perry and Patrice Renee Washington. Through sculpture, photography, digital media and performance, these four New York-based women artists transform common domestic and cosmetic objects to expand the possibilities of self-representation. Whether it is through the use of acrylic nails, salt or baking flour, each artist dynamically redefines an object's form and function to reveal its hidden histories and how our identities inform our perception. This satellite exhibition and performance series is the first collaboration between FiveMyles and MoCADA.

Sober joins our resident DJ tandem Rich Medina and PQ for REVIVAL's Going Away Party. With RICH MEDINA and PQ at the helm, Revival always attracts an ecclectic crowd with a penchant for dope dance moves. Each month features a different special guest DJ set, adding a slightly different music flavor to the mix.
