Harriet Faith Hand-Lettered Mistakes Quote by Beatrice Wood
I had already chosen this quote before I even knew I would be more than 3 days late in posting. So the irony is that some mistakes in managing my time, which happened to coincide with some technological issues and a several hours long power outage, actually forced a reveal of my mistakes by causing this delay in sending Week 11 out.
Life is funny. Sigh.
And I, like Beatrice Wood, have a life full of mistakes.
If, like me, you look at Ms. Wood’s incredibly long – 105 years! – life, you can find yourself very inspired by her adventurousness – moved to Paris as a teenager from California. Her creativity – actress, painter, ceramicist, writer. And her spirituality – moved back to California in her 40’s to be near spiritual philosopher Krishnamurti and she became a lifelong member of the Theosophical Society.
When asked for the secret of her longevity, she replied, “I owe it all to chocolate and young men.” So, she was a true connoisseur of life’s pleasures and did not trouble herself too much dwelling on her mistakes.
I hope you can forgive yourself for your own mistakes in the past. And while you are at it, forgive others.
We are all in this together and we are all doing our best. Here’s to YOUR long, adventurous, happy and creative life!
