71st Precinct (covering Crown Heights south of Eastern Parkway)

Crime is down 7 percent in the 71st Precinct for the week of January 13 - January 19, according to CompStat, the NYPD's crime accountability and statistics system.

There were 28 reported incidents in the week, versus 30 incidents during the same week in 2013.

Crime is up 4 percent (108 incidents, versus 104) for the 28-day cycle, versus last year at this same time. And crime is down 4 percent (76 incidents, versus 79) year to date, compared to last year at this same time

The biggest increase in reported crime for the month is with burglaries-- 16 reported incidents, a 55 percent increase over last year. And the greatest decrease observed for the month is with felony assaults—22 incidents, versus 31 last year at this same time.

77th Precinct (covering Crown Heights north of Eastern Parkway)

Crime is up 40 percent in the 77th Precinct for the week of January 13 - January 19, , according to CompStat, the NYPD's crime accountability and statistics system.

There were 42 reported incidents in the week, versus 30 incidents during the same week in 2013.

Crime is up 12 percent (131 incidents, versus 117) for the 28-day cycle, versus last year at this same time. And crime is up 8 percent (86 incidents, versus 80) year to date, compared to last year at this same time.

The biggest increase in reported crime for the month is with burglaries-- 34 reported incidents, a 209 percent increase over last year. And the greatest decrease observed for the month is with robberies—18 incidents, versus 46 last year at this same time.
