A Community Talk on The Amazing Bud Powell: Genius, Music and Masculinity

On Wednesday, January 22, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm, at 409 Lewis Avenue, join Dr. Guy MusiQology, as he presents a community discussion on Professor Guthrie P. Ramsey, Jr.'s new book, "The Amazing Bud Powell: Black Genius, Jazz History and the Challenge of Bebop."

Speakers include Prof. Guthrie P. Ramsey, the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Term Professor of Music at the University of Pennsylvania; Darnell L. Moore, a Brooklyn based writer, co-founder of YOU Belong and managing editor of The Feminist Wire; and Aimee Cox , assistant professor in the African & African-American Studies Department at Fordham Universityt.

This all takes place at Bed-Stuy's newest barbeque restaurant, Little Brother Stuyvesant-Heights, located on Lewis between MacDonough and Decatur streets.

This community talk is free and open to the public. Delicious barbeque, craft beer and choice wines will be available for purchase.
