Fire officials are investigating an early morning fire on Washington Avenue in Clinton Hill.
At around 3:00am, 12 fire trucks and 60 firefighters were called to 296 Washington Avenue, between Dekalb and Willoughby avenues, regarding a fire that had flared out of control on the first floor of a four-story brownstone.
Initial reports say the fire might have been caused by an errant flame from a fireplace. However, fire officials have not confirmed the source and are still investigating.
The fire was put under control by 3:56am. There were no reported injuries.
