Shenal Tissera is a Staten Island-born freelance writer. Before writing for BK Reader, he graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.S. in computer science and worked in software consulting. He now lives in Brooklyn and covers labor issues, policy, community events, profiles and sports, including the Brooklyn Nets. He has also written for Bushwick Daily.
